About Me

I'm Alice, it's lovely to meet you!

I'm an undergraduate student at Lancaster University, UK citizen, committed friend, loving girlfriend, annoying older sister, infuriating daughter, former Head Girl, ex-goalkeeper, all-round sports fan (apart from fishing, sorry Dad), lover of books and words, and a misguided and incredibly flawed writer (open to constructive criticism at any point).

I'm also, more importantly, a gay Christian. Occasionally doubtful, but mostly comfortable, I'm learning to live happily in both spheres, but happily does not mean without many, many questions.

I attend two churches at my home in Wolverhampton; the first on a Sunday morning, one I've been going to since I was born with my parents and sister. This Baptist church is a second family to me. I was baptised within this community last year, and during sharing my testimony beforehand, as is custom in my church, I came out to the people I'd grown up with - incredibly scary, but so far its been worth it!

The second church I attend is my youth church, Vitalise, on a Sunday evening. I get to enjoy fellowship with friends and be completely myself whilst worshipping and learning more about the God I love and am beginning to trust.

I'm also in the process of finding a church here in Lancaster, so I'll let you know how it goes!

I believe that I was born gay, made by God to be the person I am today, completely flawed but fully loved and accepted.

I don't want to offend or judge, as I've been a victim of both and its not something I want to reciprocate. But let me know if I have, and if you have any questions then I'd be happy to talk to you.

These are my thoughts, muddled and as honest as possible.

  1. Hi. I stumbled across your blog, find it all really interesting! I'm struggling with a few similar issues.
I was wondering what you would say when people say that the bible says that it's wrong to be gay in scriptures? Also, what do you think about living with partners/having sex with someone you love before marriage? Are your uni church/christian group supportive?
hope you don't mind my questions, thnks :)
